River’s Edge
About
What he has to hide are things that are both criminal and wonderful.
But how can he ever reveal the truth to the Rydell family when his last name is Poletti?
Jade Rydell is being trained to be the the main figurehead for all of the Rydell family operations, not just the ranch she works on, and the horses she loves to care for. It is nearly time for a symbolic “changing of the guard,” and all agree, the future belongs to Jade.
While she’s embarking on this new adventure, she meets ranch hand, Cole Pearson. The kind of strange, quiet man is both surprising and quirky. She isn’t fully sure what to make of him. It’s obvious he came to them after surviving some recent struggles. He’s not telling her everything, and yet, she trusts him enough to let him keep his secrets.
What she doesn’t understand is that Cole is really Cole Poletti.
A name from the dregs of Rydell River Ranch history. Cole is the son of Chance Poletti, who forty years ago stranded Erin Poletti to the mercy of the Rydell family (starting the entire series!).
Cole has many secrets and untold motives. But when he falls for Jade in ways that are not part of the plan, the ability to be honest and open vanishes. For Cole hides secrets that are crimes, and a sister, who doesn’t deserve the life she has been relegated to.
Everything in his life is about his sister, no matter the price: including his integrity, his morals… and Jade.
Praise for this book
"I am not sure how I can write this review when I can't stop my tears. This wonderful, talented writer always captivates and never disappoints.
Having read all the River's End series, all the characters became real with each book. I followed the families beginning and, in River's Edge, I watched it come full circle. I am closer to Jack and Erin's age as they appear in this story, but Leanne captures my thoughts, feelings and emotions. Such depth for such a young woman, but it so describes her gift.
I received this book free to give an honest review, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. It was wonderful."
"BEST....I have read every book in this series and there have been really a lot of good ones along the way but this one , River’s Edge , was so above all the rest to me that even when Jack died my eyes misted. Also a lot of issues were brought up that sadly exist but the author knew exactly how to address them. I also liked how the author kept on informing the reader of who was who since there are a lot of members in this family. One of those you cannot put down. Hopefully more books on next generation"
"I have read all the books in the series so far & I think this one is my favorite. I could not put it down. It is a fascinating story of family, deceit, and unconditional love."
"Seriously amazing! The Polleti are back on Rydells land. Cole is such a lovable character, he’s so poor but refuses to be a criminal like his father. Penny, his sister, is his hope and guidance for good. He then encounters Jade, the granddaughter of Jack. The story pulls at your heart strings and comes full circle with both families. Such great writing."
