Book #2 from the series: Reed Ranch Series

Sugar Hill Ranch

About

Left alone together on an isolated ranch, with a contentious start, and three little girls as their only distraction, what could possibly go wrong?… Or right?

Maggie Whitlock escapes a cheating husband, while dragging her three little girls with her to hibernate across the state with her mother. She’s offered the chance to live at the isolated, but lovely, Sugar Hill Ranch. The owner’s son, however, promised the house to gruff, cowboy, Mack Baker who is the new foreman of the ranch.

A shocking meeting, a contentious start, and opposites about almost everything, neither of them is willing to give up their spot on the ranch. Mack proclaims his dislike of children, while Maggie makes sure to relish rubbing his nose in the fact, that she has three of them. Their knowledge and strengths in life are the exact opposites. But when Mack saves her kids from several life-threatening incidents, she concedes maybe he’s a blessing instead of a curse for them.

When they finally find a tentative truce, friendship develops, and she starts to figure out how she came to be at this place in her life. Perhaps the most shocking development in their lives however, is when they become far more than just housemates. That is until Maggie’s daughter, takes something of Mack’s, and his disproportionate reaction reveals a side of Mack that no one suspected. A history that will alter and possibly destroy everything between them…

Praise for this book

"This author never disappoints! Watching the characters develop as they work through their issues separately and together keeps you cheering for them until the end! A secluded ranch, two adults with their own difficulties, and three little girls disrupted from their previous life all learning how to live in the same space. The connections to River's End is woven in as well. Great read...can't wait for the next one in the series!"

"Maggie and Mack are sooooo good. Maggie, mother to 3, we originally think she’s spoilt when she first arrives in her mothers book, but we find out she is going thru post partum and all the yo-yo hormones that are associated usually make women crazy. Mack, the older bachelor is so stoic until the little girl work their way into his heart. Lots of emotions when the story unfolds. Maggie’s character eventually levels out and becomes strong enough to help Mack. Loved it!!!!"

"Holy sh*t, I loved this story! I’m a big fan of all Leanne’s books but this one really tugged at my heartstrings. It ranks right up there with Jack and Erin’s story (River’s End) and Jesse and Will’s (The Sisters) story. I had a hard time warming up to Maggie at first, but loved seeing her growth throughout. Mack is so beautifully broken. I knew there was a bombshell coming as to why.

Two people couldn’t be more different, yet love so much the same. Great story!"
